The strange death of Google Reader
Google Reader, the tech giant's RSS news aggregator, evolved into an accidental social network after it gained sharing features -- and won a loyal following of "sharebros" who used the service to build online communities. After Google absorbed Reader's social functions into Google+, many of the service's users said they felt betrayed. "I'll never forgive Google. ... They destroyed the best community on the Internet," Reader fan Luther Lowe says.
