IT software adds social features

Enterprise IT applications are starting to incorporate social-networking technologies that make it easier to share data and ideas. Some IT departments are resisting the idea, however, because they worry that social applications will take control away from them. "Internal IT is a very fertile ground to disrupt," says a Microsoft developer. "You're going to see some innovative stuff under social collaboration."
