Social "data snatchers" on the rise
The FBI is warning that social-networking fraud is escalating. "Data snatchers" have found ways to automatically generate Facebook accounts despite security features meant to prevent that, and other hackers are breaking into profiles to disseminate malicious links. All users have to do is click on a video link or download an application and their computer gets infected. Limiting access to your profile, selecting friends carefully and adjusting privacy settings can improve security, the bureau notes.
