Study: U.S. social-network use increases 43%
Americans are spending 43% more time on social networking than they did a year ago, according to a study by Nielsen. Almost a quarter of the time Americans spend online is spent on social sites, the survey found, with the increase largely driven by a trend toward people using social networks for communication previously managed by e-mail or instant messages, experts note.
