Air America turns to social sites to engage listeners

Talk radio can use social media to increase its fan base and stay relevant in a Web-focused world, Air America Media's Jen Nedeau writes. Her company offers online content and commentary that is shared through Twitter and Facebook. It also monitors those sites to connect with opinion leaders and ensure radio conversations reflect those happening online. "When booking experts, find out if they are on Twitter, Facebook or have an e-mail list, and ask if they will share a clip from the show with their social networks after," she advises.
