Smart-grid adoption of U.S. buildings may yield improved sustainability
U.S. buildings have become more sustainable, and the use of smart-grid systems could help them become more energy efficient, writes Christine Hertzog. For instance, Johnson Controls aims to expand its use in commercial buildings and "keep pushing to realize the opportunities and promises of the smart grid by increasing building intelligence and managing building performance over time," said Clay Nesler, the company's vice president of global energy and sustainability.
