Could the "Eco Index" become an industry standard?

The Outdoor Industry Association, which includes Nike, Levi's and Adidas, has unveiled the "Eco Index," a sustainability measurement tool designed to become a new standard for the apparel sector and perhaps beyond. As a tool, the index works well, writes Scott James; still, he argues, it needs to improve its human-rights and supply-chain components if it's to become a true industry standard.
