UN: Greenhouse gases too great to meet target
The level of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere exceeds by 14% the maximum for limiting increases in temperature this century to 2 degrees Celsius, according to a report by the United Nations Environment Programme. "The report provides a sobering assessment of the gulf between ambition and reality," says UNEP Executive Director Achim Steiner.
