Scientists believe Australia, once home to a dry climate that nevertheless allowed for an enviable lifestyle, is living proof of the fears of catastrophic global climate change. A decade of drought has wrought raging bush fires, monsoon flooding, mosquito fevers and the transformation of nation's arable land into a veritable dust bowl. Australian officials believe the country will be hit harder by global climate change than any other developed nation.
