Could Internet go over the air?
A consortium of six tech companies -- Microsoft, Google, Dell, Hewlett-Packard, Intel and Philips -- is proposing to broadcast high-speed Internet connections over the television spectrum. It's not clear yet if the technology that would beam the high-speed connections could be refined to prevent interference with licensed broadcasts.
