Vodafone to invest heavily in India

Vodafone will invest nearly one-fifth of its global expenditures in India this year. The $1.97 billion investment recognizes the country's importance as the world's fastest-growing telecom market. The recently acquired Hutchison Essar, India's fourth-largest mobile provider, will be renamed Vodafone Essar.
