Verizon outlines FTTH plans

Verizon Communications plans to spend as much as $23 billion to roll out fiber to the home by 2010. Verizon's FiOS service already has about 687,000 subscribers, but the company expects its investment to extend its reach to cover 18 million homes in 2010.
