Report: Equity firms back Reliance's Hutchison Essar play
The Wall Street Journal reports a group of private-equity firms is willing to offer financial assistance to help Reliance Communications buy a majority stake in Hutchison Essar. Blackstone Group, Apax Partners, Carlyle Group and Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co. reportedly want a stake in Hutchison Essar in exchange for their investment.
