Verizon Business ups service ante

Verizon Business plans to introduce Ethernet services nationwide this year, as well as a national virtual private LAN service, with the help of Tellabs. The VPLS will make use of Layer 2 technology, although the company points out that a Layer 3 service will eventually be needed if voice and video are to be added to a company's VPN.
