Embarq: Access line numbers better than expected
Embarq's work to keep small-business customers and entice consumers with bundled packages is paying off, as the company reported losing fewer phone lines in 2006 than it had forecast, just 6.1%. The company sees access-line loss slowing and says it may be headed toward its peak.
