CenturyLink signals higher savings from deal

CenturyLink raised its estimates of cost savings from its merger with Embarq, saying today that it now expects to realize $475 million and complete the integration of Embarq's back-office systems by the fourth quarter. In disclosing second-quarter earnings, CenturyLink bested analysts' estimates and raised its full-year net-income guidance.
