AT&T pays $2.8 billion for Dobson Communications
AT&T announced a $2.8 billion deal to acquire rural wireless provider Dobson Communications. Dobson, which markets its services under the Cellular One brand, has 1.7 million subscribers. AT&T hopes the deal, which requires regulator approval, will close by the end of 2007.
