Alltel pursued by private-equity suitors
Providence Equity Partners and The Blackstone Group are reportedly partnered in a bid to acquire rural wireless company Alltel Corp. Other bidders paired up for the firm include TPG Capital and Goldman Sachs as well as Carlyle Group and Kohlberg Kravis Roberts. The company could fetch $30 billion.
