AT&T, KDDI call on Fujitsu

A consortium, made of up AT&T, KDDI and five other firms, has tapped Fujitsu to deliver line terminal equipment for a planned U.S.-Japan submarine fiber-optic cable system. The equipment is said to offer data-transmission capacity of 1.28 terabits per second.
