Windstream sees a future in broadband

Since being spun off from Alltel, Windstream has made good progress in the fixed-line business, said CEO Jeff Gardner. But Gardner said the company planned to make acquisitions and aggressively recruit customers to increase its presence in the broadband space. The company will also focus on regulatory issues such as the Universal Service Fund.
