Analysis: Wi-MAX will bolster Sprint's business model

Sprint Nextel will start rolling out its $3 billion mobile Wi-MAX network later this year, which according to this article will help the carrier improve its business model. "Cellular carriers tend to be a walled garden. Wi-MAX will give us the capacity to completely open the Internet," said Barry West, president of Sprint's mobile-broadband business.
