How cognitive radio can help eliminate utilities' access headaches

SmartGrid SmartBrief | May 22, 2012

Utilities transitioning to next-generation smart meters are increasingly turning to unlicensed wireless spectrum -- particularly in the 900 MHz and 2.4 GHz bands -- to power new services, but range and interference issues make that approach less than ideal, some experts say.
