Rentricity has developed systems capable of generating electricity from water pressure, technology that is being adopted by water utilities to lower their energy costs. The New York-based startup has installed its equipment in water treatment plants in New Hampshire and Pennsylvania, and is currently finishing an installation in the Palos Verdes area of Los Angeles County, Calif.
