Brands think locally to boost social ad spending
American brands will spend $9.2 billion on social media marketing in 2016, double the $4.6 billion they spent in 2012, according to BIA/Kelsey. Local advertising's share of brands' total social spending is set to rise in that period, from less than a quarter at present to almost a third of total spending by 2016.
