Using role-based assessments to hire the right people
A one-hour interview isn't always enough to determine if a candidate is the right fit for a job -- much less a good fit for your organization. Role-based assessments can help reduce guesswork and help minimize the risk associated with hiring by assessing a candidates' softer side. When used correctly, this type of assessment can unveil key personality traits. But don't use the results to pigeonhole workers, warns Janice Presser, chief executive officer of The Gabriel Institute, a provider of role-based assessments. "You're not putting people in boxes," Presser said. "You're opening up the boxes that people may have felt they were put into and allowing them to grow infinitely in [a] way that's real [and] meaningful to them."
