Top 10: A McDonald's for Francophiles, Meijer's viral valentine and a popular pudding

A feature on a French-influenced McDonald's location in the Chelsea area of New York City was this week's most-clicked story among SmartBrief food and beverage readers. Designed by France’s Patrick Norguet, the restaurant has a sleek interior with touchscreen kiosks and a menu that includes croissants and other pastries. Other restaurants that made this week's top 10 list: Noodles & Co., which announced it will close 55 stores and adjust its menu, and Starbucks, which is testing ice cream treats in more than 100 California stores. Restaurant Brands International made headlines when sources revealed that the Burger King and Tim Horton's parent is looking to purchase Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen.

Meijer's Valentine's Day video was the subject of the most-read grocery story this week. The video, which features "The Ultimate Grocery Store Love Song Collection" of popular song parodies, has been viewed more than 1.5 million times since its debut earlier this month. Food brands in the news this week included Tyson Foods, which announced that newly-appointed COO Noel White will lead a 10-person leadership team focused on driving growth at the company, and Snyder's-Lance, which revealed its plans for Wholey Cheese! crackers, Cape Cod Thins and other new snacks.
