Jared Stearns Joins SmartBrief as Education Marketing Manager

Veteran Education Marketing Manager Will Help Expand SmartBrief Education Brand in K-12 and Higher Ed Markets

Washington, D.C., October 14, 2014 – Digital publisher SmartBrief announced today that Jared Stearns has joined its education group as marketing manager. Stearns will be responsible for expanding the SmartBrief Education brand at K-12 and Higher Education industry events, among others, working with the publisher and sales team to develop new marketing and sales programs, and forging new partnerships with industry associations.

“Over the past year Education has been SmartBrief’s fastest-growing business unit,” reports Publisher Joe Riddle. “Our group will be the first in the company to have a dedicated vertical marketing manager. I’m so pleased that we were able to recruit someone with Jared’s level of industry expertise.”

Prior to joining SmartBrief, Stearns served as marketing manager for NewBay Media’s K-12 education-technology publication Tech & Learning. He was in charge of marketing the publication’s print, online and event offerings under the Tech & Learning, SchoolCIO and Tech Forum brands.

Stearns holds a bachelor’s degree in Journalism from Emerson College in Boston. He will be based in San Francisco.
