Ten Cincinnati-area school districts are implementing a nationally acclaimed program designed to shrink the achievement gap between blacks, Hispanics and whites. Called Project Achieve, the program puts students through a rigorous curriculum and frequent testing review to prepare them for the state's end-of-grade exams. The districts instituted the program after learning that the Brazosport Independent School District in Texas had nearly equalized achievement using the program.
