Saying O'Hare International Airport's proposed expansion plan is "the most important" in aviation, United Airlines CEO John Creighton is to press the U.S. Congress to cement the airport's runway expansion as a federal law. United wants congressional help for the plan, which was worked out between Illinois Gov. George Ryan and Chicago Mayor Richard Daley, to prevent future changes by state politicians. American Airlines CEO Donald Carty also is expected to ask Congress for help.
