Norwegian children tap the keys rather than learning to write by hand

Half of Bergen, Norway, elementary schoolchildren are learning to write using keyboards instead of pencils in a four-year-old experiment. Associate Professor Arne Trageton, who devised the project, said that, surprisingly, students who initially master writing by using computers subsequently learn handwriting much faster than students taught in the traditional fashion.
