Google and Overture have made paid-search marketing a $2 billion business. Smaller businesses are attracted to the technique because they can bid on search terms for as little as a nickel, but there is concern that larger companies may buy out words that are not related to their business.
Ford is developing a six-minute short film, "The Donation," that will air during Fox's "24." The film is the latest iteration of advertainment, the goal of which is to keep viewers tuned to shows during commercial breaks.
TVN Entertainment has said it will begin offering an SVOD service targeted at kids via a distribution platform provided by Charter Communications. The service will feature programming from PBS and Scholastic Entertainment.
