China currently has a $120 billion trade surplus with the U.S., and American manufacturers, particularly in textiles, are calling on the government to do more to protect American manufacturing jobs. While some American companies blame a devalued Chinese currency and poor working conditions for China's quick rise to the top, there is evidence that Chinese factory workers enjoy a higher standard of living than the average Chinese citizen.
