Thanks to funding from Texas Instruments and other benefactors, some students in 15 Texas school districts receive $100 bonuses for passing Advanced Placement exams, while teachers receive $150 bonuses for each student who passes. Bob Daniel, principal of Tascosa High School in Amarillo, says the incentive program has spurred a 300% increase in the number AP tests taken over the past three years.
