Has Time Warner turned the corner?

Data drawn from eMarketer's latest Portal Plays Spotlight Report shows that online advertising and marketing revenues grew significantly for Yahoo! and MSN in the first nine months of 2003 compared with 12 months previously. In contrast, advertising revenue for Time Warner (previously AOL) fell 41.6% and second-tier portal, Terra Lycos, fell 56.5%. Real Networks also experienced a 6.3% decline over the same period. End-of-2003 figures for both Yahoo! and MSN showed continued growth in advertising revenue, and when Time Warner releases its own end-of-year figures on Jan. 28, it will reveal whether the firm has begun to turn the corner. www.emarketer.com
