As the low-carb diet craze continues, researchers say increased intake of fat and cholesterol could put consumers at higher risk for heart disease. While the short-term benefit of weight loss is attractive to dieters, the American Heart Association stops short of recommending the diets because there hasn't been sufficient time for researchers to conduct studies of the long-term impact of low-carb dieting.
