Medical practices are increasingly being drawn to urban areas where they are finding big benefits in communities with homes, offices, shops and transit lines all within walking distance of each other. Experts in medical real estate say the benefits extend to patients, who receive better care at less cost, and hospitals are catching on to the trend by teaming with physicians to open off-campus clinics and outpatient centers.
