According to a new survey of 210,000 K-12 students on the role of technology in their daily lives, today's children, regardless of race or socioeconomic status, are increasingly using a wide range of technologies for communication and research. The study, sponsored by nonprofit NetDay, found that students, unlike adults, are more apt to rely on instant messaging, rather than phone calls and e-mail, for immediate communication.
