The more intensive the care from health care providers, the better diabetics are able to control their disease, a new study says. The research, out of the University of Pittsburgh, found that patients showed lowered blood sugar, blood pressure and cholesterol levels after participating in a project in which their health care providers and nurse practitioners were educated on strategies for teaching self-management for diabetes, were given supporting literature and other helpful advice.
