Low-carb dieters seeking rapid weight-loss results have turned away from the diet industry's established players, but some companies are fighting to stay in the game through their reduced carbohydrate offerings. Slim-Fast Foods, whose sales declined 27% last year, has launched promotions for shakes they say can be part of a low-carb diet. Weight Watchers also jumped on the rapid weight-loss bandwagon with the introduction of FastTrack, a protein-intensive program that helped boost membership.
