Medicare officials said the program would allow some states to automatically sign up low-income seniors for the upcoming Medicare prescription drug card and eliminate some door-to-door registration by providing a standard form on its Medicare.gov Web site. Senior advocates and administrators of low-income drug plans still doubt the government can enroll more than 4.5 million low-income elderly who are eligible for the $600 a year subsidy.
