Eszopiclone, a derivative of zopiclone, has been found to be effective in reducing sleep disorders among elderly insomniacs, according to a report at an annual meeting of psychiatrists. The drug Estorra, not yet approved by the FDA, is described as similar to Ambien and Sonata, and not only helps insomniacs sleep more soundly at night, but also reduces the desire for daytime naps.
