A new study shows people with diabetes are three times as likely to develop colorectal cancer as those without the disease. The study of 10,000 people found those with the highest blood sugar levels -- even if they weren't high enough to be considered diabetes -- were most likely to have bowel cancer six years later. Researchers stopped short of suggesting diabetes causes colorectal cancer and instead said the disease may be a marker for something else that increases the risk.
