Yo-yo dieting, or rapid weight loss and gain, can be harmful to your immune system, says a study in this month's Journal of the American Dietetic Association. Experts say people during the summer may use quick boosts, such as supplements or fad diets, to lose pounds and this could lead to a patter of yo-yo dieting, which in a study of overweight menopausal women has been shown to lower the body's number of natural killer cells that help fight viruses.
