A report from Mintel International Group notes the rise of breakfast bars and yogurt, as well as private label cereals, is cutting into the growth of traditional cereal makers such as General Mills and Kellogg. Still, the report points out cereals can continue to do well with successful product tie-ins and by promoting themselves as healthful in the wake of growing obesity concerns.
