As the baby boomer population ages, the concept of "aging-in-place" -- living in one's home safely and independently -- is being embraced and demanded by many. Research shows that as many as 85% of people over the age of 65 want to continue to live at home and, to builders, that will mean considering such facility modifications as equipping doors and faucets with easy-to-use levers and installing crank-style windows that are easier to open and close.
