Bell Helicopter Textron, in an effort to streamline production and increase its revenues, says it will use lean manufacturing processes for its new V-22 Osprey tiltrotor aircraft to bring the price down from $70 million to about $50 million. The company is also reducing the amount of time it takes to cycle the aircraft through its factory and the paperwork required to prepare each V-22 for delivery to the government.
