Revenues for the online travel industry, which is seeing a wave of mergers, are expected to mushroom from $38 billion in 2003 to more than $80 billion in 2007, according to a new report. "The online travel sector is becoming increasingly competitive and suppliers ... are mounting a more aggressive challenge to the online agencies that initially dominated the marketplace," says the report by New York research firm eMarketer.
