Verizon was the biggest spender of the 200 companies featured in the Advertising Age Megabrands report. In the first half of 2004, the company spent $730.8 million, the report said. Total spending for the 200 Megabrands rose 14.4% to $22.82 billion during the period, while overall media spending rose 9.1%.
Viacom named Leigh Anne Brodsky as president of Nickelodeon and Viacom Consumer Products. She'll oversee licensing and merchandising for brands such as MTV Networks International, Comedy Central, Nickelodeon, Nick at Nite, Paramount, TV Land and Spike TV.
