Contrary to suggestions linking high levels of exercise in youth with chronic fatigue syndrome, a new study says the risk is higher among children who lead sedentary, inactive lifestyles. The findings, which come from a study of the medical histories of more than 16,000 babies born in 1970 and whose health was monitored until they were 30 years old, show children who had higher levels of exercise had a lower risk, but being female and from a higher social class seemed to increase the risk.
