Finishing touches are being made to a new Metro station in Washington, D.C. The station, which is on the Red Line north of the city's Union Station, is the first to open within the original 83-station network since the system was finished almost four years ago. It will serve a relatively light 1,500 passengers a day, but officials hope its opening will spark a development and construction boom as high-tech firms move to the area.
